About Derrel Bilsky

I have been at my current firm for a little over 5 years. Over the course of those three years I have gained invaluable knowledge of Sage products and QuickBooks as well as additional excel and word techniques I did not gain from my education. My duties currently range from preparing after the fact and live payrolls, quarterly and annual payroll statements, sales and use tax returns, compiling client financials, and preparing various income tax returns. There are also times where I am on the audit staff that performs various field work for Agreed upon Procedures, Audits of Defined Pension Benefit plans, Audits of 401k Plans, and Audits of company financials. The work experiences I enjoy the most fall somewhere in between the audit and tax fields. I am often surrounded by boxes of paperwork or deep into a QuickBooks file that has to be sorted through to either fix or create a company trial balance and income statement for a tax return. It is tedious work, but I pride myself on my problem solving capabilities.
