About Derrick Booth
Derrick received his Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Illinois State University and graduated with his Master of Arts degree in human development and school counseling from Bradley University. Derrick received his master’s degree from Bradley University ranked #1 in his graduating class with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. In 2022, Derrick earned his Doctorate degree in Higher Education Administration from Bradley University. Currently, Derrick serves as the Executive Director of Community Services for Trillium Place Health an affiliate of Carle Health, providing strategic direction, operational guidance, and support for policy administration for community based services. In his previous role as the Director of Social and Emotional Learning in Peoria Public Schools he ensured students, staff and families were provided with the supports, services, and resources they needed to be successful. Derrick developed and opened the doors of the Wraparound Center in 2018. The Wraparound Center is a one stop shop providing access to basic needs, therapeutic supports, and legal services for individuals who live in the city of Peoria, Illinois at no cost. As the head boys basketball coach at Manual Academy, Derrick had regular opportunities to change the lives of youth both on and off the court. During his ten years as head coach, he led the Rams to conference championships in 2008, 2009, 2012, 2014 and 2016. Coach Booth also led the Rams to the State finals during his tenure, finishing as the State Runner Up in 2008 and 2010 and a 3rd place finish in 2016. Coach Booth was named the IBCA Coach of the Year in District 12 in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2015 and 2016. Derrick has received numerous awards and honors over the years for his service to the youth and the community of Peoria, Illinois. In 2022, Derrick was inducted into the Peoria African American Hall of Fame.
