About Derrick Connor

As the Resort Executive Sous Chef at The Seagate, I oversee the food and beverage operations for The Hotel & Spa, Beach Club, Golf Club and Yacht Club in Delray Beach, Florida. I am passionate about creating memorable experiences for our guests and members, elevating our offerings, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. I am also a Certified Executive Chef® by the American Culinary Federation (ACF) and the World Association of Chef Societies (WCEC), Certified Evaluator, Treasurer and Certification Chair of the Broward County ACF Chapter, and ACF National Certification Commission member. In addition to managing the daily F&B operations, I also develop menus, train associates, control food and labor costs, and support the areas in need. I have a proven track record of leading successful events, such as the Boca Bacchanal, and participating in charities and festivals, such as the James Beard Foundation, March of Dimes Signature Chef, SOBEWFF, and No Kid Hungry. I am also a Certified ServSafe Instructor and Proctor, and a James Beard Foundation Professional Member. My goal is to continue to mentor culinarians, share my wealth of knowledge and skills, and strive to become an ACF Certified Master Chef®.
