Hey, I'm Derrick, a second-year Computer Engineering and Cognitive Science student at UCSD. My academic journey has immersed me in innovative fields, leading me to develop a robust skill set in software engineering, with proficiency in multiple languages like Python, Java, and C++. I'm passionate about leveraging technology to create impactful solutions for people and the environment. As a former software engineering intern at LearnWise AI (Fall 2023), I worked with AWS Lambda to manage databases, honing my skills in cloud computing and database management. Currently, as the Event Director for UCSD's Computer Science and Engineering Society (CSES), I am at the forefront of fostering a tech-passionate community through organizing events and workshops. This Winter 2024, I'm excited to be at Qualcomm Institute, furthering my experience in software engineering. I'm deeply interested in the intricacies of software design and development, especially in areas like computer vision and advanced computing technologies. I am committed to continuous learning and aspire to contribute meaningfully to the software engineering field.
