Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in.” -Bill Bradley Ambition led me to China at 23 years old, but I didn’t realize then how persistence was the key to my success. I had just graduated with an accounting degree and was learning Mandarin in Beijing. While traveling, I was viciously attacked and in a coma for 10 days. The severe brain trauma left me unable to speak, but with gifted professionals, friends, family, and a lot of grit, I rebuilt my vocabulary over the next two years. I have come to realize whether relearning to speak, playing high-level basketball from 5-18 years old, or seamlessly transitioning and keeping my job at two acquisitions in ten years, my persistence led to success. I’m looking forward to the next challenge. Significant accomplishments: • Maintaining highest level of accounting and finance functions through two acquisitions, from Seafreeze Limited Partnership to West Coast Cold, LLC in 2008 and West Coast Cold, LLC to Lineage Logistics in 2012. Revenues increased 40%+ with each acquisition. • Experienced Controller in all aspects of accounting: audit, GAAP financial statements and reporting, compliance, budgets, forecasting, financial analysis, management reporting, internal controls, fixed asset management • Skilled in leading teams, maintaining a high level of urgency, positivity, and expertise whether in accounting, HR or operations
