About Derry Dolan

For the last 5 years I have been working as OH and UG Fibre Engineer, Full Build, Jointing, splicing, and then Testing and Commissioning, fault finding the PON for Map Group UK contracting for BT Openreach.Just back from Oxford Thame, Haddenham, building the network for Giggaclear PIA, building full PONs splicing from cab to fists to tenios and getting used to a different network. I was one of the first engineers to work on the Giggaclear network and was given the initial training from Giggaclear working closely with Giggaclear chief Engineers, and project managers, to get the build how they wanted it, also meeting dead lines getting, weekly, monthly and quarter results in. Training new engineers to the network so they could hit the ground running.Testing the network, finding faults, fixing faults with EXFLO, IOLM, using FID to check fibre connections are clean and in good condition.Now back in the North East, Harrogate and Wakefield, back to Openreach contract Full PON Build Jointing, splicing and testing. I have gained many skills and accreditation’s whilst working for MAP, that I know I can carry with me to other companies within the same industry. My working life has been varied, from a fully qualified baker, to working as a Postman for Royal Mail and also as diverse as working as a domiciliary carer, supervisor and care co-ordinator for Allied Health Care.My job roles are proof that I can be flexible and adaptable, and from these job roles, I have gained many skills and qualifications that have been advantageous throughout my working life.
