About Desaree Renaud

My interest in human subjects research comes from a deep belief in primary prevention — the idea that sustaining health is more powerful than treating illness. That belief has shaped every role I've taken and every study I've supported. That perspective extended into health technology through my work at Girls Invest San Diego, where I evaluated a mobile app-based sexual health and financial literacy intervention and learned firsthand that how a tool is designed is just as important as what it contains. That experience deepened my appreciation for the intersection of technology, data, and behavior change. My research experience spans community health, program evaluation, and federally funded multi-site studies including projects supported by NIH, NSF, and OPA. At ETR, I coordinate day-to-day study operations across concurrent research projects — managing site logistics, participant screening, recruitment, and tracking, IRB compliance, data collection, and qualitative analysis. I approach every study with the same belief: that rigorous, people-centered research produces data that actually means something to the people it was collected from.
