About Deshaune Richards

After leaving college with a BTEC diploma in welding and fabrication, I found it difficult to get a role in such a job to help progress my career within welding. However I did know that whatever job I did get I knew I wanted it to be within the engineering sector. What I was most interested in gaining was various useful skills, progression and something I enjoyed. After a long search I finally found an apprenticeship within electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic engineering which I enjoyed immensely despite all the trials and tribulations, however, due to unforeseen circumstances in my personal life I was unable to continue the apprenticeship and because I wasn’t able to put it on pause I unfortunately had to leave. To be honest the thought of a career in sales and marketing had never crossed my mind, but as soon as I understood the vast potential and the great opportunities I could be a part of I gave it my all. Yes, at first it was difficult but the freedom I could have both mentally and financially was something I always aspired to have but didn’t know how to get. The fast-paced and energetic environment, the unlimited potential for growth, self development the chance to soon develop those around me is what propels me forward. I thrive in different and difficult situations, always keeping the ethos of the Royal Marines ‘Cheerfulness in the face of adversity’. This is the vital reason behind me being able to push myself to the fullest extent and continue to improve to be the best version of my self.
