About Desiree Bone

Des' career started in IT after having completed City and Guilds Certification. Her first role was with MSU LTD, offering PC & LAN services to the Gov. of Malta. In 2001 following a year traveling in Asia Des looked for a role in technical sales, & joined Vodafone Malta as VAS Executive. She was involved in the rollout of the GPRS service and with the VAS team lead the introduction of SMS VASs in Malta. In 2004 Vodafone Malta completed the installation of the 2nd Fibre Optic link out of Malta & launched its IP Bandwidth Services, after receiving IP training from Cisco Desiree joined the IP Bandwidth sales team. She handled IP sales to local ISPs & to international organisation, setting up in Malta. In 2006, after the birth of her 1st daughter, Desiree to a break from her telecoms career & worked voluntarily as Executive Administrator to the North Africa Area Director with Partners Int, a US philanthropic organisation, she also joined the executive committee for Special Olympics Malta as Treasurer. In 2008 Des returned to the corporate world as Business Development Coordinator with Lighthouse Communication a 360 marketing agency. At the end of 2009 Des re-joined Vodafone Malta as Wholesale Business Executive, she managed the company’s wholesale international A2P business dealing with international sms gateway providers & roaming partners. In 2012 Des joined Fortytwo Group as Procurement Manager, managing existing and engaging new providers for the delivery of A2P SMS. From November ’13 to April ’14 Desiree was Chief of Commercial Operations at Fortytwo Telecom overseeing the Sales, Procurement and Routing functions. Following a six month maternity leave after the birth of her 2nd daughter Des joined HAUD Systems as Head of Bus Dev and was later made Head of Brand and Marketing as the company grew.
