About Desray Nay

I have a talent and passion for helping atypical children. I treat children who have autism, ADHD, sensory aversions, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), anxiety, behavioural problems, speech impediments, emotional regulation problems, and related disorders using Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). ABA bridges developmental gaps across social, language, motor, play, executive functioning, academics (for the emerging age), adaptive (independence for the emerging age) and cognition skills. Each child has an individualised program, team, and one on one learning. I manage problem behaviours such as aggression, mouthing, property destruction, self injurious behaviours. I teach non verbal children techniques to communicate in the interim while teaching them to talk using a speech programme. Examples of the techniques I use are Touch Chat and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). I manage adversities using desensitisation programmes, including tactile, auditory and visual adversities. I have experience in aiding children with food adversities with an individualised feeding program. I am also skilled in toilet training. I have experience working with schools, in homes, over zoom/teams and in centres. I assist caregivers to follow through what has been taught in the child’s ABA programme such as brushing teeth, washing hands, communication, toileting, dressing and undressing, behaviour management.
