About Destin C.

I am an Electrical Engineering EIT and a recent graduate from the University of Alberta. I have experience designing embedded systems and IoT devices from the following projects: As a member of the student-run space organization - AlbertaSat, I participated in the DEBORA High Altitude Balloon Mission. I designed a PCB interface for payload sensors to communicate with the onboard computer. I also helped implement a GPS sensor with Python to geotag Bremsstrahlung X-ray data collected at an altitude of 30km in the stratosphere. For my Electrical Engineering Capstone, I helped build a real-time monitoring and alarm system to help reduce AED machine theft. I worked on developing C firmware on IoT alarm devices so that they would activate and send critical alerts within 10 seconds of theft detection. I also designed and assembled an accompanying IoT control device to manage a network of these remote alarm devices over the internet.
