About Destiny Curtis

Experienced in education, administration, and student services, I have a passion for fostering learning and supporting individuals in academic settings. With a bachelor's degree in English and diverse roles ranging from high school teaching to higher education, I bring strong communication skills, creativity, and dedication in helping others. My career journey includes working as a high school teacher, a scholarship specialist, and an admissions counselor, and I now serve as a Community Living Coordinator while pursuing graduate studies part-time. Most of my jobs have been in the realm of education and healthcare, and so I'm very familiar with creative problem solving and flexibility in making things work in the face of scarce resources. I thrive in environments where I can support personal and academic growth, particularly in higher education, a place where students CHOOSE to be, and thus a hopeful environment. I speak American Sign Language, and I have also volunteered in literacy programs teaching English to non-native speakers, further enhancing my ability to connect with and assist diverse communities.
