About Destiny Huff

Dr. Destiny Huff, LPC, is a late-diagnosed Autistic and ADHD military spouse and mother of two neurodivergent children in special education. A licensed mental health professional, she has supported learners across early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school settings and is passionate about promoting the mental health of neurodivergent students through neuroaffirming, trauma-informed practices. Dr. Huff’s advocacy began after her son endured suspensions, seclusion, and restraint at just five years old. That experience—painful but eye-opening—fueled her mission to help families navigate a school system not built for disabled and neurodivergent children. She combined her clinical knowledge and personal journey to become a non-attorney special education advocate, fighting for safer, more inclusive educational spaces. Dr. Huff serves on the Board of Directors for PDA North America and SWAC (Sistahs with Ausome Children). She has presented for national organizations such as the Alliance Against Seclusion & Restraint, Autism in Black, Black Collective Advocacy Network, COPAA, LCA, LPCAGA, Lives in the Balance, PDA North America, Public Policy Exchange, and Young Child Learning. She has also trained professionals at Educare DC, LACCD, and Children 1st Development Community Services.
