About Deva Sai Kumar Bheesetti

I am a Computer Science graduate student at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, with a strong foundation in software engineering and a growing specialization in machine learning, AI, and large language models (LLMs). With 3 years of industry-level experience in backend development, automation, and scalable system design, and over 2 years of academic and 1 year of research experience in LLMs and AI-driven systems, I thrive at the intersection of engineering and innovation. My work spans fine-tuning transformer models, building retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) agents, optimizing inference pipelines, and developing intelligent assistants for healthcare, education, and business domains. Currently, I serve as a Graduate Assistant at the Manning School of Business, where I lead data automation and AI integration projects. My thesis focuses on LLM-based prediction of Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) from clinical texts, blending NLP, regression, and ordinal classification with real-world medical data validated by clinicians.
