About Devan Wagner

I am an engineer for advanced technologies in the space and energy fields with nearly 10 years of experience designing, analyzing, implementing, and improving systems. Currently, I'm at OroraTech Canada where I am the technical focal for CSA's WildfireSat mission. Previously I worked at MDA Space across a range of projects including Canadarm3, various rovers, and exploratory work for nuclear reactors to be deployed on the lunar surface. I'm also an alumnus of McMaster University, where I got my Masters researching nuclear batteries and was the student lead of the University's first satellite mission - McMaster NEUDOSE - which studied radiation in Low Earth Orbit to better protect future astronauts. Regardless of the role, I am always looking to new space technologies that will bring benefits back home to Earth and all those inhabit it. I have an avid interest in mentorship, leadership, and science communication while advocating for a just and inclusive world. It is my hope to use my experiences to help others find the same passion that I have been lucky enough to find. When not designing things, I enjoy camping, gardening, the occasional birding, playing Dungeons and Dragons with my pals, or thinking about dinosaurs.
