About Devan Waterhouse

I am a soon to be postgraduate student. I am passionate about working in the field of children, young people and their families. I am graduating from the University of Derby with a BA (Hons) in Child and Youth Studies. I currently work and study full-time although my studying is soon to be coming to an end and I also volunteer for a mental health and well being charity local to myself, where I run children and adolescents wellbeing groups weekly, the clubs are attended by children of all ages and all abilities with a variety of different needs who I support emotionally, socially and mentally through crazy I’ve play sessions designed by myself, I also volunteer for the Children and Family Wellbeing Service at Leicestershire County Council where I attend police station a as an appropriate adult for children and adolescents who are in custody, it is my job to ensure they are safe and fully understand the process. I am looking for opportunities to develop my skills and knowledge but also to fulfil my passion in working with children and young people. I want to make a difference and would really appreciate the opportunity to be considered for roles in my field of interest.
