About Devansh Satra
I am a dual degree student in Engineering Physics (Nanoscience specialization) at IIT Bombay with research interests at the intersection of photonics, condensed matter physics, and topological physics. I have 2+ years of undergraduate and international research exposure at the following labs- At the Joint Quantum Institute (Univ. of Maryland, Prof. Hafezi), I design and simulate reconfigurable topological photonic crystal devices (waveguides, tapers, splitters) using Tidy3D, Legume, and numerical frameworks and study Photonic Computing Platforms- At ISTA Austria (Nanoelectronics Group, Prof. Katsaros), I developed quantum control electronics (IQ mixers, RF systems) for hole-spin qubits- At IIT Bombay (LOQM, Prof. Anshuman Kumar), my thesis involves building a full in-house Plane Wave Expansion framework and applying optimization and FDTD methods to engineer robust valley photonic crystals for 6G-terahertz communication. Currently, I am preparing for PhD applications in Physics/Applied Physics, aiming to contribute to the discovery and engineering of novel topological phases and exploring photonic computing platforms.
