Responsible for ICD's Consolidated FS and Corporate Annual Report timely finalization, including external auditors coordination, ensuring no surprises- Bring forward ICD Consolidation finalization timelines by 2+ months since joining - ICD’s Consolidated Total Assets are more than AED 1 Trillion across a broad spectrum of sectors - Performed and managed PPA for newly acquired business - Align organizational strategic goals by drawing a roadmap along with its execution plan - Build a cohesive group of 55+ investee companies, supported by 4 team members - Act as primary point of contact with Government of Dubai representatives for timely finalization of accounts - Collaborate with other department heads for information on the Group's financial reporting - Challenge team members to evaluate and innovate existing processes to bring efficiency - Stay abreast of IFRS and regulatory pronouncements that may impact financial reporting. Essential ones are IFRS 7, IFRS 9, IFRS 15, IFRS 16 and CbCR (Country by Country Reporting)- Identify and assess financial reporting risks and implement measures to mitigate those risks, with a responsibility to maintain the latest document of Group financial reporting ‘Policies and Procedures’ - Semi-annually present ‘ICD Group Performance’ to the ICD’s senior executives - Articulate and list action points for complex accounting matters by analyzing financial data trends - Prepare justification papers on technical accounting matters and get pragmatic clearance from external auditors - Create an inclusive financial reporting framework through the organization of 'Bi-annual Group Orientation Sessions' to kick off the next reporting cycle and Group-wide IFRS seminar - Drive governance process to identify deviations from best practices and enhance the quality of financial reporting and financial statements preparation process - Participate in special projects and provide inputs from the consolidation aspect. For example, on restructuring, new reforms in the Global/Local tax regime and the Prospectus Programme update - Led ICD's website to revamp and ensure its timely update with the latest developments - Support the ‘Corporate Communication’ team on multiple projects (for example, the creation of ICD Corporate Videos, Wikipedia page updates, etc.)- Hands-on with Cognos consolidation system (an IBM tool) and Group Reporting Dashboard (a deliverable submission and tracking portal developed internally)- Work closely with the ESG personnel to comply with the changing reporting landscape
