About Devdeep Maity

I am an Associate Professor of Marketing in the College of Business and Interim MBA Director at Delaware State University. I have earned my Ph.D. in Marketing from Oklahoma State University (OSU) and have worked as a Visiting Professor at Wichita State University. I have earned my MBA in Marketing from SBS Swiss Business School, Zurich, Switzerland in collaboration with Alliance Business Academy (presently Alliance University), India. Besides, I have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and I have professional experience as a Business Analyst at a leading software firm in India, Satyam Computer Services Limited (presently, Tech Mahindra). My primary research is on consumer product relations. Other research topics include customer participation, product returns, perceived ownership, voice shopping, vlogging and AI. Some of my achievements include Phillips, Paul D. & Lois Doctoral Dissertation Award, Dean’s Research and Teaching Award, AMA-Sheth Doctoral Consortium Fellow, Outstanding Teaching Award, Outstanding Academic Scholar. Other achievements include publications at Psychology and Marketing, Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing, Journal of Marketing Management, Applied Marketing Analytics, presentation of scholarly papers at American Marketing Association, Academy of Marketing Science, Decision Science Institute, Association of Marketing Theory and Practice, Association for Collegiate Marketing Educators. I have been recognized as a “role model” by one of my students in the Delta Delta Delta chapter at OSU. I have served as an academic reviewer for the European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, and several academic conferences. I have also also served as a Vice-Chair for special interest groups at the American Marketing Association and served as a member of the Historical Commission, Upper Uwchlan Township, Chester County, PA. I have taught, worked, and learned with thousands of students from diverse multicultural, multiethnic backgrounds and have served as a judge for various grad and undergrad level competitions.
