About Devendrakumar Ramachandran

I have been working in software development ever since I graduated from college. I have 18+ years of experience in application development, design and architecture. Throughout my career, I have worked in many positions and at different capacity. I have worked in development and design of new products, reverse engineering of existing products, various proof of concept initiatives, application modernization, onsite-offshore model, different types of applications (interactive, batch, services), interaction with vendors, etc. I love exploring new technologies and how it can be incorporated into existing systems and processes without much impact to them. I am passionate about my work, because I love doing what I do. I love exploring different components and how they interact with each other. I love understanding the business purpose behind each and every component. I believe without knowing the purpose for the component one cannot design a better product. It is a valuable lesson that I learnt very early on in my career. I am also constantly motivated to look for gaps in the process (be it design, architecture or processes) and how better I can improve it with changes and tweaks to the system or application or even coming up with repeatable process or design. Even though I believe in the philosophy “Why fix if it didn’t break?”, I also believe in constant tweaks to systems, products, components will always help achieve greater efficiency in longer run.
