Working in QHSE started from a simple belief: safety is about people. Real people, with families waiting at home. The most meaningful impact of this role is knowing that the right decision, the right control, or the right conversation can help someone return home safely at the end of the day. The work sits across QHSE, Sustainability, and Human Performance in the maritime and offshore sector, with a strong focus on making sure safety systems work in real operations, not just during audits. This includes implementing and assuring Safety Management Systems aligned with OVIQ, OVMSA, ISM Code, ISPS Code, and ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001. Daily work involves audits, risk assessments, Management of Change, and incident investigation and learning. The attention is always on effectiveness: whether actions truly reduce risk, whether lessons are applied across vessels, and whether the same issues are quietly repeating in different forms. Human Performance plays an important role in this approach. Incidents rarely happen because people do not care; they happen when systems are unclear, barriers are weak, or risks slowly become normal. Understanding how work is actually done, under time pressure, fatigue, and real constraints, helps create safer outcomes. Speaking up early and stopping work when conditions are not right are treated as strengths, not disruptions. Sustainability follows the same principle. Practical actions, realistic expectations, and consistent habits matter more than statements. Protecting the environment and protecting people are part of the same responsibility. At the end of it all, the purpose remains clear: supporting safer operations, stronger systems, and decisions that help people go home safely, every day
