About Devika Manoj

As a second year law student who aims to ensure fair justice deliverance to the deprived, my passion for law is highly prevalent. I am a recent History(Hons) graduate with a minor in political science and my engagement with these subjects has provided invaluable insight into civil rights and constitutional and humanitarian crises in today’s world. A considerably active student in college, I never failed to grab opportunities that came my way. My position as the Class representative of the History department for 2019- 2020 and 2020-2021 helped me explore my leadership and coordination skills. Further, I got to work as a volunteer for SANDRISHTI SWAVALAMBAN, a special needs NGO aimed at helping the visually challenged students of LSR in every which way possible. I also participated in VAAP, the community development and social welfare cell of LSR, DU. My social service experiences expand beyond college. I have had the opportunity to work with UDAYAN CARE, an NGO for children's rights which aims to empower the education of vulnerable children and youth with education and livelihood training programs. I also worked as a Climate Counsellor with the International Centre for Culture & Education (ICCE) supported by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change where I led a team of more than 30 volunteers to spread knowledge about Climate Change via Certification Program and Workshops for public, corporate school & college students I believe that education is the key to empowerment and this motivated me to establish an NGO named Koode meaning "together" which works for children belonging to the underserved sections of society, creating a space to educate empower, and evolve. For the past two years, I am leading and managing the team which has now grown into a digital ecosystem with more than 300 members. I managed the team to conduct more than hours of sessions over 2 years across 14 districts in Kerala, facilitated partnerships for training educators as well as extra-curricular activities and summer camps for the students with Teach for India, Kaleidoscope Teens, etc. As I enter a key stage in my career I hope to achieve the maximum I can by applying my aptitude skills and passion for standing up for people's rights.
