About Devika Srivastava

Hello,I have a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and have worked with many different populations (adults,children, veterans, students, rural, international and intergenerational immigrant and poc populations) with a variety of issues stemming from anxiety, depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, family issues, racial/ethnic and gender identity, psychotic disorders, eating disorders health issues, life transitions, grief, and pain medicine and LGBTQIA+ issues (esp for poc), and have provided services in a variety of settings (prime care, outpatient, inpatient, colleges, clinics and private practice) using CBT, ACT, DBT, psychodynamic orientations and all my work is in a frame of multicultural and feminist and LGBTQiA+ affirmative therapy. My research specialties cover racial and social identity issues, multiculturalism, cultural competency, mood disorders, and pain management, as well as the intersection of psychology, systemic issues, and policy. I have a significant amount of policy experience and hold a great passion for this area and believe that treatment, competency, research, training, and programming, are related to health and social policy (federal, state, and city). My private practice (national/psypact) focuses on primarily intergenerational teens, adults older adults, couples, and families. I also am co-editor on the first ever South Asian American psychology book and speak on unique issues related to South Asian American and diasporic mental health. South Asian American and diasporic and poc mental health is my personal and professional passion.
