About Devin Hill

In 3rd grade, Ms. Toland told my father I would be a writer one day. She was right. My start in the workforce was through the United States Air Force working as a weapons technician with a secret security clearance (currently inactive). When I found myself back home, I went to University of North Florida to receive my BA in English. I pictured myself being an editor for a publishing house, or an author. After my second book published, it occurred to me that my creative writing is my hobby. I don't want that to be my career, but my joy when I come home from work. Knowing this, I started reaching for roles that allowed me to explore, discovering my strengths and weaknesses. Currently, I am working as a lead technical writer, handling product documentation, procedural documentation, and compliance documents. I work with Adobe Creative Suite, Framemaker, Jira, and Confluence. I've grown so much as a writer and figured out I thrive with structure. I love a collaborative environment where we work together to find solutions to any challenge placed before us. The Air Force taught me how to function in a unit, and working a technical writer has allowed me to build my confidence in my skills. I do not like staying stagnant, which is why I've started training on Agile, Scrum, and Kanban. I've also, on my own time, have completed over 40 hours of Salesforce Administrator training. I've found I have a knack for picking up software, which is why I've ended up in tech. I want to grow. I want to learn more develop my skills in project management, business analysis, and quality assurance. I've had the pleasure of shadowing skilled managers and analysts; their work interests me. I want to continue growing and helping those around me find their passions in the process.
