About Devin Hister

After serving in the U.S. Military, I have learned that I thrive in environments using processes that require a systematic approach. During my college experience held at Wayne State University, I learned that often times complex situations exist, even when you're following every step in the guide to a task. Accounting has given me an opportunity to take advantage of my systematic workstyle, while also approaching situations that are unique to clients, putting me in position where I can take on a new challenge, grow from it, and apply the new experience into my next approach. Which is why when I am a part of a team, I am able to learn quickly and confidently begin demonstrating those skills with less mentorship. I've found that outside of my career and education I find myself enjoying hobbies that allow me to break from my methodical workstyle, such as guitar, hiking with my dogs, and traveling all over to try new foods. I believe that the life of an accountant doesn't have to be just numbers in and out of work, and I think this balance is what helps step me forward further in my accounting career.
