About Devin Horvat

I have been in the jewelry industry since I was seventeen years old in high school and have been with it all through college pursuing a degree in Geology from Colorado Mesa University; 7 years in total. I have a keen eye for gemstones and which have propelled my success as an employee for my current job. I have also received completed my AJP through the Gemological Institute of Americas along with Pearls and Diamonds and Diamond Grading. These courses and certifications have boosted my sales and expertise in the retail jewelry business. Geology and jewelry overlap in some regards which was a huge driver in me pursuing my bachelors in the subject. I graduated in May 2021 with Honors after completing my honors thesis which has been published and is viewable to anyone. From my research on magnetic survey techniques and preliminary forward modeling I was given the opportunity to do a poster presentation at the GSA conference in Portland, OR in late 2021 where I presented along with my colleagues a much larger project. I was a diligent student with an excellent work ethic and I would strive to put forth my best at all times. Through my dedication to my research, I received an award for outstanding student research through my department. I have an affinity for jewelry sales, customer service and geologic research that is unparalleled by anyone at my age. I have a lot to learn and can grow tremendously and I wish to do so whole heartedly in future endeavors.
