Background
About Devin Omalley
Devin O’Malley joins Narrative Strategies after 15 years of working in the Executive Branch, on Capitol Hill, and on high-profile campaigns. His policy communications, public affairs, and crisis and reputation management work spans industries including healthcare, banking, finance and trade, high-stakes litigation, cybersecurity, and national security. Most recently, Devin served as a senior communications strategist on Glenn Youngkin’s historic Virginia gubernatorial campaign, which The New York Times called “a remarkable upset” that “will be reverse-engineered for its lessons by both parties.” Devin also served as an advisor to former Vice President Mike Pence and his issue advocacy organization, Advancing American Freedom. Devin previously served as press secretary to Vice President Pence and as senior communications advisor to the vice president for the White House Coronavirus Task Force. There, he coordinated Executive Branch communications and advised Cabinet officials and agency heads on communications issues and messaging strategy related to healthcare and the economy. Most notably, Devin planned and executed an earned media plan during the height of the pandemic that included appearances by senior officials on Showtime’s “Desus & Mero” and Barstool Sports’ “Pardon My Take” podcast. Devin’s Executive Branch experience also extends to the Department of the Treasury and the Department of Justice. At the Treasury Department, O’Malley served as the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs and spokesman. In that role, Devin developed the messaging strategy around major CFIUS policy and housing finance reform. Prior to Treasury, O’Malley served as the Principal Deputy Director for Public Affairs and spokesman at the U.S. Department of Justice. O’Malley started his career with Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) and went on to serve as deputy campaign manager for Sen. Tom Cotton’s (R-AR) closely watched election in 2014.
