About Devin Reid

I am a full stack Java developer and devops engineer who is well versed in all aspects of software design, implementation, and deployment. I have participated in both small research projects and development of larger multi-company integrated systems. I have a deep understanding of system operation in both Windows and Linux environments. I am capable of doing UI work, back end work such as server side programming and middleware interfaces, dealing with integration, deployment, devops, and working directly with customers.I have extensive experience integrating systems using a variety of middleware for data transport including JMS, AMQP, RMI, CORBA, EJB3, JbossESB, various web services frameworks and custom protocols using plain old sockets. I also have a solid background working with SQL databases including PostgreSQL and MySQL using JDBC, Hibernate and JPA.I have developed applications using a variety of application environments including Spring, JavaEE (JBoss, Tomcat, etc), and OSGi.I have experience with Git, Mercurial, SVN and CVS. I have worked with Ant, Gradle, and have expertise using Maven including writing custom Maven plugins. My devops experience involves administrating Jenkins servers and transitioning projects from manual build, test, and delivery processes to devops pipelines powered by Jenkins.I am well versed in a variety of provisioning and deployment strategies from more traditional hypervisor solutions such as ESX and HyperV to modern container solutions using Docker.I wear a lot of hats in the course of my everyday work between software developer, devops engineer, configuration management, and system administrator. This allows me to contribute wide variety of skills to any software team.
