About Devipriya Raju

I’m a graduate student at the University of Alberta, with a strong academic foundation built on a Master’s in Data Science from the University of Wisconsin. My work lies at the intersection of Deep Learning and Medical Imaging, where I leverage advanced tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, SciPy, and OpenCV to drive impactful research and discovery. With over three years of hands-on industry experience, I’ve developed robust expertise in Python and R, implementing data-driven methodologies to solve complex analytical and imaging challenges. My prior research has focused on the detection of Alzheimer’s disease and the analysis of breast cancer through fMRI-based image processing and deep learning. Currently, I’m part of the Vision and Robotics Lab and the Servier Virtual Cardiac Center at the University of Alberta, where I’m working on a cutting-edge project aimed at tracking multiple sclerosis (MS) lesions using fMRI data. This work integrates image registration and segmentation prediction to enhance the precision of medical image analysis. As a Research Assistant, I’m driven by curiosity and innovation, constantly seeking to push the boundaries of what’s possible in AI for healthcare and to contribute to advancements that make a real-world impact.
