About Devon Heroux
I’m a PhD Candidate in Oncology (UBC) and MPH Candidate in Epidemiology (Harvard T.H. Chan), focused on immunotherapy and drug repurposing. My research examines how repurposed compounds alter tumor immunity and interact with checkpoint blockade, and how commonly prescribed medications influence cancer outcomes in population‑based cohorts. This includes developing targeted delivery systems and applying advanced statistical and bioinformatic methods (RNAseq analysis, GSEA, survival modeling) to guide translational strategies. My work has been supported by $80K+ in competitive funding, including the NanoMedicine Innovation Network Doctoral Award, and Harvard MPH‑EPI Scholarship. Outside of research, I’m active in ultramarathon-distance running and triathlon, formerly with the UBC Triathlon team.
