About Devon Lall

There are two halves that describe who I am. One is the academic side and the other is the people side. On the academic side, I find myself living by "I don't know what I don't know" and am driven by learning a new concept or theorizing to think in different angles. While I do explore a wide range of topics, I find myself hovering around a few which are finance, programming, math, and psychology. Given those main topics, there has been a fascination with understanding emotions of a market solely through the market data without the use of NLP leading to great neuroscience textbooks and psychology journal reading sessions. On the other hand is the people side where I am driven by helping others (especially through teaching) and love having chats with people. Everyone has a story and something to teach me, so getting me to actively listen isn't difficult. Also, I can make people comfortable around me. I would like to think it's because I am an extremely funny guy who lightens the mood with his comedic prowess, but sadly I've been hearing it's mainly because I am genuine. Putting the two halves together, my career pursuits come down to any combination of these 4 things: math/programming, strategy, finance, and people.
