About Devon Stewart

My passion for agriculture started at a young age at my family’s ranch. I grew up actively involved in 4-H and FFA, successfully exhibiting animals across the United States. It was a no-brainer for me to further my knowledge of the industry in college. I attended Hutchinson Community College where I traveled the nation participating on the livestock judging team. I was able to meet and work with industry leaders from all around the world during my two-year term on the team. I then attended Kansas State University where I continued my education in agriculture, studying agricultural communications and journalism. Although most of my knowledge and experience revolves around the livestock sector of the industry, my studies at Kansas State University allowed me to broaden my knowledge of agriculture as a whole. After graduating from Kansas State University in 2013, I accepted a job with the American Maine-Anjou Association as their Director of Youth Activities and Show Events. Because our staff at the association was so small, I was able to gain many skills outside of my position. Vance Publishing offered me a job in May of 2015 as a National Accounts Manager for their protein division. I was very new to sales but with my background in agriculture and my passion for the industry, they were able to teach me the necessary sales skills needed for the position. During my time there I built and maintained relationships with clients, enhanced sales by prospecting a new set of clientele and performed follow-ups to build trust within my client base. I currently work for the Kansas Grain and Feed Association as their Marketing & Communications Specialist. My Primary duties at the association include overseeing all communications products provided. These include the print and electronic newsletters, websites, news releases, annual reports, online advertising and marketing brochures. I also administer the scholarship program.
