About Devona Austin

Working in cannabis markets across the US and Canada has been instrumental in shaping me as a business professional. Over the past 6 years, I've had the opportunity to work with the entire cannabis supply chain from seed to sale and beyond. As I enter a new cannabis market, I'm always certain of two things; the regulations overseeing the market will always be unique to that market and that those same regulations can change on a moments notice. In a start-up environment people expect instability, change, and growth. This expectation comes with the caveat that this is only temporary, that once we've gone through the growing pains in the first five years, we'll be sailing smoothly. In the cannabis environment, there is only instability, change, and growth. It's no surprise with that type of environment, start-ups and cannabis start-ups in particular, tend to see high turnover. Not everyone is fit for the triathlon that is cannabis, and that's okay! But for those of us adrenaline junkies, there's no place quite like the cannabis space to call our work home.
