About Devontae Brooks

DeVontae has been in the mortgage industry for close to a decade. He started his mortgage career as a Mortgage Underwriter which is the individual responsible for making the decision to extend credit to a borrower. DeVontae was a Regional Lending Manager for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. He made the transition to a loan officer because he wanted to share his knowledge and experience to help borrowers feel comfortable with the home lending process. His experience at the highest level of credit lending gives him a unique ability to understand each borrower's distinct situation. DeVontae is a graduate of Northern Illinois University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance. He is dedicated to continuing his education and being a knowledge seeker for life. His thirst for learning encouraged him to go back to school to earn his MBA from Northern Illinois University, taking evening classes while also balancing his career and life outside of wok. DeVontae is originally from the Quad Cities area of Illinois but stayed in the Chicagoland area after graduating college. He was a collegiate athlete which taught him the significance of hard work, importance of teamwork, and appreciating individual differences. DeVontae is a huge NIU Huskies and Florida Gators fan. The Chicagoland area has always been his dream destination because he loves the variety the city provides. DeVontae and his lovely wife Brittany reside in Chicago and love exploring the city. He understands the complexity of home lending and loves the opportunity to share his knowledge to help educate borrowers. DeVontae approaches each transaction as if it were his own, it is important to him to thoroughly explain the home lending process and financial commitment to each borrower to ease their minds.
