About Devyn Arroyo

Devyn Arroyo is currently a senior with the University of Florida Online and will be graduating with her a bachelor's degree in event management on August 9, 2024. She has 6 years of customer service experience along with a year and half of events experience, and one year of administrative experience. She obtained her first role in the events industry as an event planning intern with The Gathering Co. in Raleigh, NC in 2022. Within her role she gained knowledge in the pre planning of weddings, shadowed and assisted the lead wedding planner with day of events, and shadowed multiple client meetings. With the knowledge she gained from her internship and university studies, she was able to put her knowledge to the test by independently event managing and coordinating a wedding for a couple in Asheville, NC. In the planning process, she completed various tasks including vendor sourcing, budgeting, producing timelines, producing layouts/floor layouts, and communications. For day of event execution, her tasks included coordinating set up/breakdown, vendor management, and timeline management. She acquired excellent networking, communication, administrative, member engagement, and client relation skills during her administrative assistant role with the HEB Chamber of Commerce in Bedford, Texas. During her time with the Chamber, she also completed a four month event management internship with the organization where she would shadow and assist the events manager with the planning, preparation, and execution of luncheons, meetings, and annual Chamber events. She currently is completing a summer internship with NCFC Youth as an Events and Camps intern. Through this role, she has been able to assist and shadow both the Director of Events and the Director of Programs with the preparation, planning, and execution of tournaments and camps.
