About Devyn Rudd
Passion for structural design and new challenges has lead to enrollment at the University of Alberta working towards a Masters in Engineering in Structural Engineering. While graduate school has been challenging, it is also extremely rewarding. Immersing myself entirely in structural courses has been exciting as I get to learn more about what i'm passionate about in engineering, as well as meeting other great engineers who share my interests. The greatest challenge has been recalling my fundamentals from undergrad, and realizing where the holes are in my knowledge of engineering. It's been a humbling, but also engaging experience to work back through concepts I had learned years prior. It has given me a better appreciation for my capabilities, forcing me to acknowledge my weaknesses so that I can genuinely improve myself as an engineer in training.
