About Dexter Oelrichs

I have six years demonstrated history of working in non-profits climbing from an intern to country manager. I have worked in Australia, Germany, Indonesia and Zimbabwe on humanitarian, environmental, carbon and wildlife projects. The three achievements I am most proud of are- At 26 I was appointed the country manager in Zimbabwe which had four projects, a large annual budget and a 30+ person team- Faced with the shutdown of our entire operations in Zimbabwe I secured a long-term revenue source in only 4 months saving the jobs of my team and preventing 5 years of progress being lost. This will protect the wildlife area we managed from hunting for next 25 years if not permanently- I secured funding for a carbon project in a forgotten part of Indonesia critical for its biodiversity. I subsequently managed this project where we succeeded with a small grass roots team to plant a million trees and reforest 330ha of tiger, rhino, elephant and tapir habitat. I am a First Class Honours science graduate with a focus on Statistics and Psychology. My thesis research on climate change efficacy was published in two journals.
