I am the Professor and Head of the Department (HOD) of Biochemistry at Pramukhswami Medical College, affiliated with Bhaikaka University, combining expertise in clinical biochemistry, medical education, and institutional management. With an MD in Biochemistry, I lead our NABL-accredited laboratory, ensuring high standards in clinical diagnostics and quality control.In my role as HOD, I am responsible for:Academic Leadership: Overseeing and delivering the biochemistry curriculum for MBBS, DMLT, B.Sc, and Nursing students, with a commitment to fostering deep understanding and practical skills in clinical biochemistry.Laboratory Management: Implementing SOPs, conducting daily quality assessments, and participating in EQAS/IQAS to maintain diagnostic precision. I regularly conduct and interpret LEVY-JENNING graphs and derive laboratory ranges, ensuring our lab operates at the highest standards.Departmental Administration: Holding monthly reviews with lab and department leaders to address quality control and operational challenges, aligning with the institution’s goals for continuous improvement.Additionally, as a resource faculty member in the Department of Medical Education, I support faculty development, contributing to training initiatives that enhance teaching practices across medical disciplines. I am also pursuing a PhD in Health Professions Education, which informs my approach to developing and applying innovative educational strategies.I serve on the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC), upholding ethical standards in research and medical practice within our institution. Through these diverse roles, I am dedicated to advancing clinical biochemistry, promoting quality in healthcare education, and supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals.
