About Dhingra Mohit

I am an architect, educator with specialization in conservation from University of Edinburgh UK, with over 16 years of work experience with governmental, non-governmental and academic organizations, I have developed specialism within India in a range of ambitious projects involving participatory planning, implementation and advocacy. I was the recipient of Charles Wallace Conservation fellowship for the year 2012 and believes in the notion that “Culture itself can be the catalyst for Social and Economic development”, of challenged historic cities, reflection of which can be seen in my associations with, World Bank- Cities Alliance technical assistance for "Inclusive Revitalisation of Historic Cities in India, Aga Khan Trust for Culture Historic Cities Program, Stenness – Brodgar Conservation appraisal World Monument Fund, Archaeological survey of India, National Culture fund to name the few. I am currently associated with National Institute of Urban Affairs as State Coordinator for World Bank-Cities Alliance Technical Assistance for historic cities in India primarily involved in formulating strategies, accelerating interdepartmental convergence initiatives, conducting capacity building workshops for concerned administrative officers and elected representatives in the historic cities. I have been recently recognized as one of the world’s top-40 young global cultural leaders as participant in the Global Cultural Leadership Programme by the Cultural Diplomacy Platform in Amsterdam late October 2018, where I represented India with a singular objective of developing cross-cultural partnerships and collaborations with selected leaders from Brazil, China, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, USA, and many European countries.
