About Dhrumil Tailor

I’m currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering at the Technical University of Munich, with a strong interest in Propulsion systems, Spacecraft design & Mission analysis. Alongside my studies, I work as an Advanced Design Werkstudent at Deutsche Aircraft, where I contribute towards the early development phase for new and derivative aircraft. My role involves using design tools to analyze aircraft performance and conducting competitor benchmarking through data research. My interest in aerospace engineering comes from its ability to push boundaries and drive innovation. The idea of creating machines that can fly through the skies or explore space has always fascinated me. I’m motivated by the opportunity to solve complex challenges and contribute to advancements in this field. I’m also part of a student initiative at Elara Aerospace, where we’re designing and building the first student-built Methalox rocket to cross the Karman line (100 km altitude). My focus is on the design, analysis, and testing of the injector for our liquid-propellant engine. Before moving to Munich, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Surat in India. My bachelor’s thesis, which was published in a Taylor & Francis journal, gave me an early exposure to technical research and problem-solving. Throughout my education and extracurricular activities, I’ve come to value teamwork and collaboration. Whether through student clubs, group projects, or research initiatives, I’ve seen how a motivated team can achieve much more than any individual could alone. These experiences have shaped how I approach challenges and strengthened my belief in the power of working together. As I move forward, I’m excited about contributing to the aerospace industry and applying what I’ve learned to real-world challenges. Being part of this ever-evolving field motivates me to keep learning, growing, and collaborating with others who share the same passion for aerospace.
