About Dhwanil Thakkar

I am a Pediatric Hospital-Based Medicine physician at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. I also serve as a Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. I have extensive clinical experience in evaluating and managing conditions relating to General Pediatrics as well as other therapeutic areas including Neurology, Oncology, Immunology, Rheumatology, Nephrology and Gastroenterology. My clinical experience includes working in various inpatient settings including general medicine floors, pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) as well as outpatient settings such as immediate care and primary care clinics. I also have a strong interest in medical education and clinical research. I am actively involved with clinical education for medical students and residents and curriculum development for our pediatric residency program. Additionally, I am experienced in hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives aimed at standardizing care to optimize outcomes and reduce costs as it relates to commonly encountered clinical diagnoses within the inpatient setting.
