About Di Xiao

I have completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from University of Windsor in June 2014. I am eager to apply my academic skills to my career goal to work in engineering. I bring my enthusiasm, dedication, and desire to my career. I have done the capstone project in the fourth year. In the capstone project, my group was asked to design a wastewater treatment plant. My responsibilities included the design of preliminary treatment plant and cost analysis, which required me to demonstrate strong teamwork, creative thinking and decision-making abilities. In this project, I showed a very strong self-learning ability by means of learning how to use the program CAPDET to do cost analysis. I am proficient in Auto CAD and MS Excel to do draft drawing and data management respectively. I believe that these skills would be transferable into my work, also, these skills would benefit the designing aspect of any project. The experience of working in a customer service position helps me to enhance my communication skills, improve my problem solving ability, and has assisted me to speak fluently two languages, these skills allow me to work with people from different countries in diverse environments.
