At the University of Texas at Austin, I plan to major in Radio-Television-Film. I believe in the power film has to highlight unheard voices. As a young Black woman, I am committed to telling the stories of women and Black people, two groups who are constantly written or cast inaccurately because there is little representation among writers, producers, and directors. My experiences as a Black woman have taught me perseverance and toughness, and through film, I hope to make others feel not alone. Though I am only one person and not every woman or Black woman has gone through the same things in life, my experiences would help me accomplish realness and relatability on-screen.
