About Diana Carlos

As an adviser on international environmental affairs I have the responsibility to support and promote the international activity of the Ministry particularly in the fields of water management, waste management and sustainability reporting to the Head of the International Division of the Office for International Relations. Main functions include: Preparation of reports, speeches and brief notes to support the participation of the members of the Portuguese government in several international, European and bilateral conferences. Participation as member of the portuguese delegation in the Rio +20 Conference, with the responsibility of taking part in contact groups regarding Sustainable Development Goals and Water Issues; Produce and keep up to date the annual international ministerial agenda; Promotion of the participation of Portugal as co leader of the China Europe Water Platform (CEWP)- responsible for the communication with danish and chinese secretariats; Monitor an contribute to relevant pieces of european legislation, such as- European's commission proposal for a Regulation on ship Recycling, and for a Council Decision regarding ratification of the Hong Kong Convention- European Strategy on Water Scarcity and Droughts Translation of official document Logistical organization of exibitions occuring in parallel with international conferences Preparation of the portuguese participation in political processess of World Water Forum
