Background
About Diana Kosianka
My name is Diana Kosianka. I am a recent college graduate with a love for history and the arts who is highly skilled at communication, and loves to give back to her community. I am a volunteer with the National Lighthouse Museum, where I not only teach visitors about the history of lighthouses, but also help with purchases at the gift shop, conjure research for lighthouse keepers in an online database, and facilitate phone calls for anyone who asks about the museum. I am also currently at work with writing a grant for the Museum's most important project yet - a Saturday morning program teach families about lighthouses through the STEM approach. It is important that children and adults alike learn about the past, as well as how to preserve and learn from it. Before I became a volunteer, I interned for the National Lighthouse Museum through the Ladders for Leaders program and the Work, Learn, and Grow Program as a marketing and development intern and as a researching intern respectively, where I found my talent for persuasion and advertising through phone calls, gift shop sales, and helping a fellow worker during one of our famous boat tours. I have also grown up with a deep interest in media. This has led me to museum-work, as well as an internship as a digital journalist with the Youth Channel division of the Manhattan Neighborhood Network. I am not only highly organized, but also quick to learn and pick up new skills and subjects and strive to achieve all of my assigned tasks and projects to my fullest potential. I can be reached at dianakosianka@gmail.com, and I guarantee that once you hire me, I'll be one of the best employees you've ever had.
