About Diana Neves

Hello, I'm Diana and in this little post I'll give you a quick briefing about myself. I studied civil engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of Porto. In addition to the course, I'd like to highlight two organisations that made an impact on me during my time as a student: IACES (International Association of Civil Engineers) and Mentoria Civil'In. I carried out countless activities and developed most of my communication, management and even treasury skills in these associations, and I can even say that they were my introduction to the responsibilities of adult life. My latest achievement was the possibility to write an article about an investigation that i carried out during my last summer vaccations. I've always wanted to specialise in the field of structures and I'm particularly interested in the field of structural rehabilitation. I believe it's possible to maintain our heritage while reusing existing materials in a less intrusive way, making construction as sustainable as possible. Maintaining our heritage doesn't mean neglecting modern architecture, but rather maintaining the memory of an entire people! With regard to my view of my future. In the future I'd like to be working in a company in my field, on out-of-the-box, very challenging projects, as I couldn't be happier with a project to restore built heritage. As well as my academic life, I have other hobbies, such as baking and music, to which I've devoted some time and study.
