About Diana Solymos

Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." Confucius That is why I have decided to become a Naval Architect in a country with no sea or ocean. And I have never regretted my choice for a moment. Taking advantage of the benefits of small shipbuilding and operation industry in Hungary I have worked in almost every phase of inland shipbuilding in various roles. Draughtsman, engineer, designer, project manager, engineering office managing director, surveyor and site manager are just some examples. Most of the time I had to take the responsibility for different activities at the same time. I always enjoyed complex projects, and my favourite part of engineering is when you can follow the whole process from the moment the idea was born to the day when She sails out to Her maiden voyage. After a brief, but interesting detour into steel bridge construction, I found my way back to shipbuilding and engineering in The Netherlands, where I welcame all the new challenges of my profession. Lately I explore a new area by leading pipeline construction projects within the Central European region as a Project Manager.
