About Diana Zaato

As a child, I saw diseases like buruli ulcer, cholera, cerebrospinal meningitis and guinea worm in Ghana and my earliest volunteer experience was HIV/AIDS peer education in rural villages. Long before my BSc. in Public Health and MPH in Global Health, I understood the intricacies of improving health outcomes. I am a results-driven applied epidemiologist with over 10 years of demonstrated public health experience in government, non-profit and research, with focus on infection control and primary prevention principles and practices to promote population health initiatives. My subject matter expertise is in infectious disease surveillance and outbreak response, and public health emergency preparedness, with experience leading an EpiTeam, writing emergency response plans and designing HSEEP tabletop and functional exercises. I have demonstrated experience with population health assessment, programming and evaluation, utilizing qualitative and quantitative, and mixed methods methodologies to conduct community health assessments and improvement plans. I am proficient in using tools and software for conducting analysis of large datasets and creating data visualizations to inform public health action. I have exceptional written, oral and technical ability, and I am adept in the creation of effective solutions to programmatic challenges. I am seeking new opportunities; I am able to travel domestically and internationally and work remotely.
