About Diane Chesebrough

Sometimes passions get realized late in life. Once understood, opportunities to engage in that passion must be taken without hesitation. I have always enjoyed a challenge. I enjoyed working in contracts at the Northrop Corporation and value the accounting work and people at Areas Appraisers. Other endeavors in which I have participated during my life touched my emotions and challenged me physically/mentally like no others. For instance, asking a 1,300 lb. horse to jump over a huge obstacle as in show jumping (something it would never do in the wild given a choice); or to move in a balanced, animated way as in dressage - and having that horse consent with enthusiasm - is the most delightful feeling in the world. The collaboration between an equine athlete and its rider is complicated but it is satisfying in a way that can not be duplicated in any other sport. I have put away my show boots and britches for now but I will always cherish my past athletic equine partners and the challenge of the competition we faced together. I have moved on from the very physical challenge of training/showing horses to a more cerebral one. My passion for the best sport in America — professional football — and a love of editing, writing and photography have brought me new opportunities. I commit to using my journalism training to take advantage of these opportunities in the best way I know how. by being the best writer/editor I can possibly be. Specialties? Hmm. I try to see things in a positive light while staying in tune with reality. I like to find diplomatic solutions to complicated problems. And I appreciate the fact that everyone has something to offer. Celebrate and value the differences in everyone and everything and life can be pretty dang good!
