About Diane Constantine

As the Director of Clinical Informatics at University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), I oversee the planning, development, implementation, support, and optimization of clinical information systems across acute, rehabilitation, and tertiary care areas and service lines. I hold certifications in Informatics Nursing (NI-BC), Nurse Executive Advanced (NEA-BC), and ITIL. My core competencies include knowledge acquisition, setting strategic direction, and understanding and conveying complex information. I act as a change agent to promote efficient and effective adoption of technology supporting consistent, effective, and evidence-based clinical practice. I advance the utilization of clinical technology platforms consistent with the goals, objectives, and strategic initiatives focusing on improved patient health, quality outcomes, and enhanced usability and clinical decision support for clinical stakeholders. I also serve as a liaison among clinical teams, and as an adjunct faculty at University of Maryland School of Nursing, where I mentor and instruct nursing informatics students. My mission is to use technology to streamline clinical documentation, improve workflow and processes, promote patient safety measures, and engage patients in their care.
